Pavegen

By harvesting kinetic energy from pedestrians Pavegen can power signage, automatic doors, ticketing machines and wayfinding solutions.

The system can be retro-fitted into interior or exterior paving/flooring and the slabs can be custom branded.

Trials have taken place in locations in the UK and further trials planned throughout 2010 with local authorities, schools and transportation hubs.

Pavegen is designed to withstand 5 years of use. The units are tamper proof and shock absorbing dampeners prevent damage by large vehicles.

Five paving slabs distributed over a section of a pavement will provide sufficient power to illuminate a bus information panel overnight.
